If you’ve followed me for a while, it will come as no surprise that animal rescue is near and dear to my heart. I actually began photographing animals in 2017 when I was volunteering as a dog walker for City Dogs (the adoption arm of the Cleveland Kennel). At that time, I was pretty content walking dogs and doing events, but another photographer found out that I had a fancy camera and asked if I could help photograph the dogs as well. After a short tutorial on how to photograph dogs, I was off and running!

Today, animals make up 95% of my business and I’m so glad I’ve found my calling. However, I’ve never stopped giving back to animal rescue. I have continued to photograph adoptable animals for a variety of rescue groups in the area. I have donated to and sponsored various fundraisers. And I have even hosted calendar contests. So what’s ahead for Robyn White Photography’s animal rescue support in 2025? A bit of the same as well as some new opportunities.

Mini Sessions Supporting Animal Rescue

I’ve decided that any mini sessions I run this year will support animal rescue groups with 50% of the session fee donated. I typically run 3-4 mini sessions a year and I already have the first one scheduled. If you want to get images and feel good about giving back a bit, check out my Valentine’s Day mini sessions on January 25th and 26th.

These sessions will benefit Mutts in a Rut Rescue, a foster-based rescue group that frequently takes dogs from the Cleveland Kennel. Many of the dogs they take have medical issues that would be difficult to treat in the kennel environment. Therefore, a lot of the money raised will go towards helping pay medical bills and support their fosters.

Third Annual Calendar Contest Benefitting Animal Rescue

For the third year, I am hosting a calendar contest benefitting Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland, the nonprofit organization that supports the Cleveland Kennel. We have already raised almost $30,000 total in the last two years and I can’t wait to see what we can do for this organization this year!

The contest opens on January 13th and goes until February 14th. 100% of the funds raised during the calendar contest and from calendar purchases afterwards is donated to the group. Although it opens next week, you can go ahead and visit the contest page HERE. All companion animals are welcome to enter and as long as they can come to my studio between February and April, they can win one of the top 13 prizes.

Book Project to Support Animal Welfare

I wanted to do a book project for a while and this year I decided to join the Tails of the World Collective and do a Tails of Cleveland book project. Not only will this book highlight all of the beautiful landscape that Cleveland has to offer, but it will also benefit the Cleveland Animal Protective League through monetary donations.
