I tried the 52 Frames challenge in 2021 but about halfway through got tired of trying to figure out what I would do for the challenges. Because I have this fancy new website and blog, I figured I’d try it again. We’ll see how long I last this time. This week’s challenge was one of the most hated among photographers: the self portrait.
The goal for the overall challenge is to create an image based on a predetermined theme each week. Historically, the first challenge of any new year is the self portrait. I had this image/idea in mind right off the bat, but was originally going to use my newest pup Precious to do it with me. However, Precious is not particularly inclined to follow directions, so I ended up with my rock solid model Blanche. I’m pretty proud of how our 1980s double exposure turned out. It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind initially, but I can live with it. The best part is it garnered a lot of attention when I posted it on social media. Who knows…maybe there will be a 1980s themed mini session appearing in the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned to see if I keep up with this project for week 2!
Interested in scheduling your own cheesy photo session? Clearly I’m down with that. Visit my scheduling page and let’s brainstorm.
I would love a 1980s theme mini session or an “awkward family photos” session!!!! You may have sparked a new idea in my brain…
